Thicker Not Always Better

Here at MattingExperts.com I have found that the thickest anti-fatigue mat might not be just what a customer finds most comfortable.  Just yesterday I spoke with just such a customer.  This woman had ordered our Pebble Trax Grande which is 1" thick. One would normally assume that the thicker the foam padding is, the more anti-fatigue relief a mat would provide.  What happened was that instead of moving around the mat all during the work shift, this customer literally stood in one spot and typed on a computer for several hours at once.  Even though she only weighs 130 lbs and was wearing sneakers, the fact that there was no movement around the mat led to an uncomfortable situation for her.

I was a bit perplexed by this so I contacted the mat manufacturer (NoTrax) and shared the complaint that the customer explained - her feet actually hurt after using the mat. It was explained to me that not all customers respond well to the 1 inch thick foam and to suggest she try the 1/2" thick Pebble Trax mat.

We have ordered the thinner mat for the customer and await the resulting reaction from them...stay tuned.
