What's that you need? Liners for armored cars?

Here at MattingExperts.com we get some pretty interesting customers with some pretty interesting matting needs.  For example, last week I began a discussion with a gentleman from Canada who is in need of 2" thick smooth rubber matting...to cover the inside of armored Spartans.  So immediately I thought of Champion Manufacturing's Nyracord Smooth Runners which are made from recycled tires.

One problem...nobody we work with makes the mats that thick. So the next move is to see how much my customer would be needing and how often. The thinking behind this? To determine whether it is worth developing a product just for him. So after some research on the vehicle he is intending to outfit with this matting...uh, yes.  Once I realize the Spartan is in fact a tank it doesn't take me long to figure out we are talking military. And when you start talking military, you start talking a really nice order!

In order to make me a mat so thick, Champion will have to create a special mold also known as a die.  The customer specified a need for the mat to be 4 feet wide. Our finished product will be 4' x 6' x 2".

Our hope is that we create an ongoing relationship with our new customer. The real point is that when you need something out of the ordinary or less than mainstream who you gonna call?? (Hint: it is not Ghostbusters.)

So please, we beg of you...throw us that curve ball. We have our mitts positioned at the ready!

Un-Sung Hero a.k.a. Hog Heaven Anti-Fatigue Mat

Orange Stripe
JUST LOOK AT IT, WILL YOU????

I will be the first to admit that I have overlooked the amazing-ness of this mat until just recently.  It was over Easter weekend and I was visiting my family. About 3 years ago I had given my twin nephews one of these mats in a 2' x 3' size with green striped borders. My intention was that they stand on it while doing the dishes in their tiny little apartment.  And they did! (Mostly.) But now, each of them has branched out and moved into separate dwellings and all of the sudden, here was their mat...on the floor in my brother-in-law's garage!

Now, some people would have been hurt if they saw their gift had been re-gifted in such a callous way. I, on the other hand, realized it actually made me happy to see the mat in a new home.  Heck, let someone else enjoy it for a while!

A bit more back story...when I first started working at MattingExperts.com, of course I tried my best to immerse myself in the culture of mats. Since I did not know very much in the beginning about all the technical aspects of mats, naturally I was drawn to Hog Heaven because of the pretty colors!

Also naturally (for me, anyway) I wanted to share my excitement with my favorite young people, among whom are my twin nephews.

Well here it is about 4 years later and I am looking at the mat again. The craftsmanship is really inspiring, no joke. With anti-fatigue mats the true litmus test is what they look like turned upside down. Most foam mats have a topper material that is bonded together and then trimmed at an angle underneath to make the sides touch the floor. Hog Heaven has this really awesome top surface that is all Nitrile rubber and remains slip-resistant to .86 coefficient friction when wet. When you flip it over you can see that the foam cushion goes all but about 1" to the edge. Competitor mats of this style trim so much of the cushion in order to make the topper lay down that you are left with so much less cushioned area.  This makes Hog Heaven the best anti-fatigue mat especially in the smaller sizes.  Believe me, this is really important to customers.  I don't even want to tell you how many competitor mats I have had to return because the 2' x 3' size ended up being mostly topper and very little foam.

Please consider this mat for your dry areas as well as somewhat wet areas. I truly think you will be impressed.
